A Personal Perspective
My Experience with Healing and Heilkunst
July, 2006
[Note: This article was written for an audience of Heilkunst patients, students and practitioners, and assumes some familiarity with Heilkunst. Coming soon is a companion piece that will be a gist of the principles of Heilkunst. Meantime, see the article on Healing and Curing.]
I came to Heilkunst almost four years ago, in time for the real healing and curing that all my previous struggle had been leading me to.
As my practitioner, Rudi Verspoor, pointed out from the beginning of treatment, Heilkunst might actually be using many of the same remedies I had tried many times before with homeopathy. But the previous trial and error method, with no real systematic approach, apparently hadn’t made good use of all those potentially useful remedies.
With the “classical” approach to homeopathy, I had many so-called “aggravations” that confirmed to me that the remedies did have some energetic effects. So why weren’t they helping? My understanding now is that those aggravations were really healing reactions, but because they weren’t considered within any meaningful context, they were kind of tossed aside as par-for-the-course discomforts.
Eventually my classical homeopath recommended that I try Vega testing instead, so I did that for a bunch of years too, taking an enormous hodgepodge of remedies. I knew that there was a kernel of truth somewhere in homeopathy, or related to homeopathy, so I kept trying to find it. I certainly held the common thought that “The next Rx might be the one.” Plus I had compelling emotional attachments to kind, compassionate homeopaths! But I guess I was following Hahnemann’s example even when I didn’t know it, as I eventually discontinued the treatment that I knew was wrong, even before I knew of a treatment that was right.
Then, about 10 years later, in 2002, I found Dr. Elmiger’s book, Rediscovering Real Medicine, in which he described a sequential method of treatment that removed the obstaces-to-cure that were responsible for the failure of so many cases. That was a turning point. I emailed him to find out how I could receive treatment, but there only seemed to be one person in the US who was trained by him, and that was too far away. But I kept researching and finally came across Heilkunst.

Homeopathy for First Aid
Quick Intro to Homeopathy for First Aid
I’m a “lay” homeopath, and am trained to recommend acute homeopathic remedies. That means a couple of things:
1. Homeopathy uses the term “prescribe,” although I’m not a physician, so I don’t prescribe in the usual sense of the word, but recommend remedies. The recommended remedies are available over-the-counter, in health food stores or by mail order from homeopathic pharmacies. (A great one in the US is Homeopathy Overnight, 1-800-ARNICA).
2. An acute condition is one that is usually self-limiting. That means colds, flu, injuries, situations calling for first-aid, etc. It does not include acute flareups of chronic conditions. So if you have a condition that “acts up” periodically, you should not self-prescribe, but should consult a practitioner of Heilkunst, who works with chronic conditions. I recommend the Hahnemann Clinic for Heilkunst.
That said, I can recommend remedies for people, for acute conditions only. This requires more skill than it seems. The indications listed on the remedy bottles are completely useless for practical purposes, and are only there for certain labelling requirements.
For example, a bottle of Bryonia might say “for colds”, but in reality, there are literally dozens of possible remedies to consider for your *unique* pattern of symptoms. Take 5 people with colds, and it’s very likely they would each need a different remedy.
There are self-help books on homeopathy that can help you choose a remedy that matches your particular symptom pattern, but a skilled homeopath can make the best choice.

Vaccination vs Homeopathy
Vaccination vs Homeopathy
In response to the question of the difference between homeopathic “similars” and vaccination, I’ll describe a bit about how homeopathy works (and also about how it can remove vaccination damage).
Homeopathic similars work on the subtle energy plane, not directly on the physical as vaccination substances do. Even on that basis alone, the two are dinstinctly different and produce distinctly different effects.
But other differences could be mentioned too.. The homeopathic similar is really just that — similar, not identical. An analogy I like is “fighting fire with fire.”
I’ve heard that to put out major fires on oil rigs, they’ll set off an explosion nearby to extinguish it, which is a bit like the way homeopathy works.
The explosion they set off is not identical to the fire, only similar. It’s controlled as opposed to the out-of-control fire. The homeopathic remedy that matches the disease is in resonant frequency with the disease, but you could say it’s 180 degrees out of phase.
And, it’s given according to Hahnemann’s rational system of medicine in a highly individualized way, not indiscriminately to everyone. And it’s not given by injection which bypasses the body’s natural defense mechanisms, but always orally. So there are so many differences, really.
